Stops 45 mph wind gusts in -20° F weather

"Ok, here are the FLIR reports from a winter extreme weather pet door from petsmart and your Freedom Pet Pass. I originally had installed 2 pet doors from the store, one pet door in the main door and one pet door in the Larson storm Door. So simply put I used two extreme weather pet doors in my "before" application.

The Freedom Pet Pass replaced the original dog door and we removed the Larson Storm Door that also had a pet door in it. The mud room instantly increased in Temp and the drafts are now gone. If you look at after picture, the coldest part is now the door jam! In the before picture, the door jam was warm compared to the dog door! Outstanding product!!! Thanks"

Outside temp was -20° F and Wind was 25 mph gusting to 45 mph

Before (2 extreme weather pet doors)

Results show temperatures ranging from a minimum of -15.9° F to a maximum of 57.3° F. This depicts a significant loss of heat.

This heat loss results in the home being subjected to the outside air that enters through the dog door, while heat escapes through the same route causing the heating or cooling system to use increased amount of energy to maintain the ambient temperature.

Results show temperatures ranging from a minimum of 49.5° F to a maximum of 67.7° F.

Windproof barrier

The Freedom Pet Pass pet door is windproof in any climate. If you live in an extreme climate with consistent 60 mph winds and up contact us and we will provide you with a pet flap designed to withstand abnormal excessive wind. To create a better barrier we add rigidity to the pet flap and that means in constant high wind the pet flap will close after your pet passes through. The strength of the patent-pending seal is just as strong in both the standard pet flap and special order pet flap for constant high wind gusts.

No rainwater leakage

Ordinary pet doors use multiple pet flaps lined with fuzzy brush material to slow air leakage. This means rainwater still leaks inside and causes damaging moisture build up.
