FLAP ADJUSTMENT FOR SMALL OR WEAK ANIMALS
If your pet is having trouble pushing the flap open, you can make it easier by reducing the magnetic energy. While the seal will still be air-tight, wind resistance and threshold to indoor air pressure will be lower.
To do this, make the following adjustments:
Find the four #2 Phillips-head screws at the top of the flap system on the inside side of the door.*
Loosen the two outside screws – four complete (360°C) turns each.
Move to the other (outside) side of the door.
Grasp the black magnetic flap – a U-shaped, three-sided piece, held in place by the two outer screws. Slowly pull down on one side of the black flap – very firmly – until it releases from underneath the screw. Repeat for the other side of the black flap.
Re-insert the black flap so that it is about 1/16-1/8 inch lower than before. This lower positioning offsets, and thereby reduces, the magnetic pairing between the bottom of the black flap and frame. Test the beige flap door for ease of opening. Continue to adjust the vertical position of the black flap until the magnetic strength feels right for your pet.
Return to the inside side of the door and re-tighten the two outer screws.
Press the white screw-head caps in place.
* If you have already snapped the white screw-head caps in place, then they will have to be removed.

The kitties took no time at all to learn to get through the door, and I'm definitely happy with your product thus far. It seems to be made well, and is durable. I'm looking forward to seeing how it holds up in the cold and the wind during the upcoming winter. I live in Northern California, and although we don't get freezing temperatures, the door is still a gateway to the outside. So keeping the cold from getting in is still important. Thanks for a great product, and for your personalized customer service. You don't find that with many companies these days.
